The Advanced Fraud Detection Suite (AFDS) Setup Wizard allows you to configure each component of AFDS in one step-by-step process.
The AFDS Setup Wizard divides the AFDS filters, tools and settings into four main categories, listed below:
Transaction Filters
Daily Velocity Filter — This filter allows you to limit the total number of transactions received per day. Transactions received in excess of your established threshold will be processed according to the filter action you set. This filter is available to all merchants regardless of whether you are subscribed to AFDS. Multiple transactions that are part of the same order do not trigger this filter.
Amount Filter — This filter allows you to set lower and upper transaction amount thresholds. Transactions submitted for an amount less than the lower limit or greater than the upper limit will be processed according to the filter action you set. Multiple transactions that are part of the same order do not trigger this filter.
Hourly Velocity Filter — This filter allows you to limit the total number of transactions received per hour. All transactions received in excess of your established threshold will be processed according to the filter action you set.
Suspicious Transaction Filter — This filter examines transactions based on proprietary transaction behavior analyzed by our Fraud Management Team. Transactions that trigger this filter will be processed according to the filter action you set.
Shipping-Billing Mismatch Filter — This filter allows you to identify transactions submitted with different shipping and billing addresses. In the event of mismatches, transactions are processed according to the filter action you set.
Transaction IP Velocity Filter — This filter allows you to restrict the number of transactions received from the same Internet Protocol (IP) address per hour. Transactions received from the same IP address in excess of your established threshold will be processed according to the filter action you set. Multiple transactions that are part of the same order do not trigger this filter.
Enhanced AVS Handling Filter — The Address Verification Service (AVS) is a standard feature of the payment gateway that compares the address submitted with an order to the address on file with the customer’s payment card issuer. This filter extends the AVS functionality by enabling you to customize how to handle transactions that return AVS mismatch codes.
Enhanced CCV Handling Filter — Like AVS, Card Code Verification (CCV) is a standard feature of the payment gateway. CCV uses a payment card’s three- or four-digit number to validate customer information on file with the card association. This filter extends the CCV functionality by allowing you to customize how to handle transactions that return CCV response codes.
Shipping Address Verification Filter — This filter verifies that the shipping address received with an order is a valid postal address.
IP-Shipping Address Mismatch Filter — This filter compares an order’s originating IP Address with the shipping address provided. This helps to determine whether or not the order is shipping to the country from which it originated.
Regional IP Address Filter — This filter allows you to flag orders coming from specific regions or countries. You can choose to customize the filter actions based on an entire geographic area, or select country by country how you wish to process transactions flagged by the filter.
IP Administration
Authorized AIM IP Addresses — If you submit transactions exclusively by means of Advanced Integration Method (AIM), you can maintain a list of server IP addresses that are authorized to submit transactions. Any transactions received by your payment gateway account from an IP address not on the list will be rejected.
IP Address Blocking — Regardless of the connection method you use, this tool allows you to block transactions from specific IP addresses. Transactions received by your payment gateway account from any IP address listed will be rejected.
Contact Information
Contacts — You can choose to receive an email notice each time a transaction triggers one or more of your configured fraud filters.
Responses
Customer Response Text —You can configure a specific customer response to be displayed to customers whose transactions trigger an AFDS filter or tool.

If you would like to configure settings or enable the filter later, you can click Skip›› at the bottom of the page. Any changes you may have made to the filter will NOT be saved.
Any filter you enable within the AFDS Setup Wizard is immediately applied to all transactions screened by the Advanced Fraud Detection Suite.
After completing the AFDS Setup Wizard, the Advanced Fraud Detection Suite Setup Confirmation page opens, summarizing your configurations for each filter, tool, and other settings.
